About Screenwriter Jared Egol

Jonathan LaPoma has written three novels, eleven screenplays, and hundreds of songs and poems. His screenplays have won over 150 awards/honors at various international screenwriting competitions, and his black comedy script HARM FOR THE HOLIDAYS was optioned by Warren Zide along with Wexlfish Pictures (AMERICAN PIE, FINAL DESTINATION, THE BIG HIT) in July 2017. His novels have been recommended by Kirkus Reviews and Barnes & Noble, and they've also won three awards and have made several #1 Amazon Bestseller lists. He lives in San Diego, CA where he teaches at a public secondary school.

About Screenwriter Jared Egol

Jared Egol studied creative writing at the University of Florida with the intention of entering medical school. He instead went on to Chapman University, where he received his MFA in Screenwriting, studying under Julie Kirkham, Tom Mankiewicz, Larry Gross and Ron Friedman, who subsequently hired Jared to assist in the writing of his memoir: I KILLED OPTIMUS PRIME.

Jared resides in Florida, where he has written professionally since 2013. Away from work, Jared dabbles in powerlifting and continues to study medicine, trying to stay up-to-date on clinical and bioethical advancements, particularly in the fields of pain science, narrative medicine, and psychoneuroimmunology. He is repped by Derrick Eppich of Lee Stobby Entertainment.

About Screenwriter Maitha Alawadi

Born and raised in Dubai, UAE, Maitha was surrounded with rapidly growing industries which defines her city beautifully, one of which was media. However, her journey actually started in Melbourne, Australia, when she moved to pursue an bachelor degree in in Swinburne University of Technology where she took up a major in Digital Media Design and exercised a minor in Film & Television. It made her discover her true passion which is filmmaking.

She then worked for 2 years in the biggest radio networking company, Arabian Radio Network, in the talk show radio station called Dubai Eye 103.8. Her job helped me gain knowledge in another field of media and improved her scriptwriting and sound design skills. It also taught her how to make features that relayed only on sound and narration which resembles documentaries without the use of visuals. Also, it made her more in tune with the film industry as she followed and had a weekly appearance on one of the programs to talk about the latest in film and television.

She has currently finished her Masters in Filmmaking at the University of Sussex in Brighton, UK, were she met and worked with great filmmakers and upcoming actors, building a network and making short films across the UK. She’s currently working full-time as a producer in Blaze, a production house in Dubai, while working on her personal film projects on the side.

About Screenwriter Erin Cardiff

A writer by nature, a filmmaker by necessity, Erin Cardiff was born and raised in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario by wonderful and supportive parents without whom she never would have made it this far.

After a career start in media, Erin worked as a writer and editor across a variety of industries until turning her attention to screenwriting and filmmaking.

Since then, she has been fortunate to be invited to many festivals and events - including The Female Eye Film Festival where 4th Of July won the Live Pitch Grand Prize - and participate in amazing educational opportunities like The Black List Lab program. She was also a 2018 finalist for The Sundance Screenwriters Lab.

She is currently working on her latest short film and sourcing production support for her debut feature.
