About Jennifer Howd & Ross Mihalko

A multi-hyphenate with 15+ years of experience working in the entertainment industry, Jennifer Howd is an author, editor, indie filmmaker, and a Certified Mindfulness Facilitator through UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center. She has co-penned numerous spec screenplays, as well as two award-winning spec teleplays. And her debut memoir, Sit, Walk, Don’t Talk: How I Survived a Silent Meditation Retreat, was featured on NPR’s “Weekend Edition.” A proud voice in the queer community, Jennifer is the co-author of The Gay & Lesbian Guide to College Life, published by Random House. She also co-created and produced the world's first "Queer Media & Entertainment Conference” (Q-Me Con) in NYC (2006) and Los Angeles (2007), as well as a special "Women's Summit” version in NYC (2008) — all of which were committed to promoting queer visibility within the media & entertainment arenas. Ross Mihalko is a queer playwright, screenwriter, and children's book author who has been weaving words into worlds for well over 20 years. His plays and musicals have been performed around the world and Off-Broadway, and his feature animation work has been released through LIONSGATE FILMS. His horror comedy film, HORROR CAMP, is currently in development with major talent attached (official announcement coming soon). In addition, Ross' Middle Grade children's book series, THE SADIE SHIPSINKER SAGA, is preparing for publication with a projected launch in 2020. Originally from New England, Ross now happily lives in Los Angeles, California with his two teenage daughters and his incredible spouse and occasional co-author, a doctor of mythological studies. Shoshana Rosenbaum is a writer/director and educator based in Washington, D.C. Her award-winning short films THE GOBLIN BABY and HIDE AND SEEK have screened at festivals around the U.S. and internationally. Her screenplay AT THE EDGE OF THE WOODS (formerly THE GOBLIN CHILD) was named to The 2017 Bitch List. With her feature script THE CREEPY HOUSE, she was a finalist in the 2015 Austin Film Festival Pitch Competition. Her screenplays have been finalists in the Nashville Film Festival, Hollyshorts Film Festival, DC Shorts Film Festival, and Asian Pacific American Film Festival. About Nick Westfall

Nick Westfall is a writer/director based in Los Angeles. Nick’s first writing and directing credit, "Finding Home" (Amazon best-seller, Best Buy, and Barnes and Noble) broke him into the indie industry. Nick's second writer-director credit is a feature film called, “8 Slices,” and it will hit theatres later this year. He also recently directed a documentary series for PBS, “Tonight at Webster Hall.” Nick has written seven commissioned screenplay adaptations for various independent studios and publishing houses. Westfall is a national leader in child advocacy programs, a SAG Signatory Producer, a high school PE teacher, and is represented by Linda Langton at Langtons International Agency.

Natalie is a storyteller and creative content professional. Recent short films that she wrote and directed include Girl Goes Out, Brick by Brick, Eve, On Art On Skin and Up Here. She has also published various short stories and essays. She has a B.A. in English/Creative Writing and an M.F.A in Film Production, both from Ohio University. She works for Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park as content marketing manager, and scribbles down new story ideas on coffee shop napkins in her spare time. Current works-in-progress that have leapt from napkin to laptop include a dark comedy about a workplace millennial sociopath, and a Midwestern gothic about a young woman untangling a murderous family secret.
