About Jennifer Howd & Ross Mihalko

A multi-hyphenate with 15+ years of experience working in the entertainment industry, Jennifer Howd is an author, editor, indie filmmaker, and a Certified Mindfulness Facilitator through UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center. She has co-penned numerous spec screenplays, as well as two award-winning spec teleplays. And her debut memoir, Sit, Walk, Don’t Talk: How I Survived a Silent Meditation Retreat, was featured on NPR’s “Weekend Edition.” A proud voice in the queer community, Jennifer is the co-author of The Gay & Lesbian Guide to College Life, published by Random House. She also co-created and produced the world's first "Queer Media & Entertainment Conference” (Q-Me Con) in NYC (2006) and Los Angeles (2007), as well as a special "Women's Summit” version in NYC (2008) — all of which were committed to promoting queer visibility within the media & entertainment arenas. Ross Mihalko is a queer playwright, screenwriter, and children's book author who has been weaving words into worlds for well over 20 years. His plays and musicals have been performed around the world and Off-Broadway, and his feature animation work has been released through LIONSGATE FILMS. His horror comedy film, HORROR CAMP, is currently in development with major talent attached (official announcement coming soon). In addition, Ross' Middle Grade children's book series, THE SADIE SHIPSINKER SAGA, is preparing for publication with a projected launch in 2020. Originally from New England, Ross now happily lives in Los Angeles, California with his two teenage daughters and his incredible spouse and occasional co-author, a doctor of mythological studies.
